Have you ever used any herbal products? At MCF, we discovered Seme cosmetics. Candy, specialized in Phytotherapy and Aromatherapy, decided to put all its knowledge at the service of skincare by creating Sème and its products made from medicinal plants of the Pyrenees. It is in Ariège, in Alzen, that she cultivates and picks her plants with care, in order to transform them into balms, oils and creams with many virtues.

What are medicinal plants?

Medicinal plants have been recognized and used since the dawn of time to naturally heal the body and the skin. There are many medicinal plants that each have specific virtues to overcome targeted problems. Nettle for acne and eczema, the burdock to fight skin infections, le calendula fight against skin dryness, and many others.

Candy created sème following a big change in her life. She quit her job and specialized in phytotherapy and aromatherapy to live from his passion: plants.

 

 Why the name "Sème Cosmetic"?

"I would quote this sentence: "We reap what we love". I think that the more we go in the direction of loving ourselves, the more the life we reap is rich and joyful. »

What is your background ?

"I practiced the craft ofnurse for 15 years. I obtained in 2011 a university degree in Phytotherapy and aromatherapy. This training was for me revealing of a passion for plants. I wanted to continue on this path and I therefore carried out various practical training courses in the recognition and transformation of plants. Which led me little by little to a professional retraining. »

 

What are your values?

"I was born in Auvergne, I have traveled a lot and had the chance to live in magnificent and privileged places. the connection to nature is a very important part of my life, it is an essential aspect for my balance and my well-being.

In fact, the preservation, respect for the environment and living beings are important values for me. My engagement near Nature & Progress testifies to it. »

 

Which herbs do you recommend for acne and oily skin?

"The plant for acne and oily skin that I know of is Burdock.

It has properties purifying, purifying, balancing. We use its root locally in the form pure oil extract or incorporated into a cream and/or taken orally as a decoction. »

 

Thanks to his action anti-inflammatory and purifying, burdock is a great ally against acne. This is why Candy has developed organic cream for oily skin with burdock from the Pyrenees:

Which herb for eczema?

“Certain plants can limit the inconvenience caused by eczema. The plantain goes soothe the itch as well as inflammation and irritation just like calendula (or marigolds) or feverfew. »

plantain balm is ideal for soothe itching caused by eczema or psoriasis.

This anti-inflammatory face and body balm is made from plantain macerate, olive oil, beeswax and lavender essential oil. He calms itching caused by eczema and is also very useful in case of Insect bites.

This face and body balm with Calendula maceration, chamomile and lavender is suitable for all skin types. It allows to soothe, soften, nourish, protect and purify the skin effectively and naturally.

 

Which herb for dry skin?

" The restorative plants to my knowledge and that I practice are calendula, yarrow, helichrysum, daisy, chamomile. L'ylang ylang is sebum regulator. By associating them with a vegetable oil or one nourishing butter ; sweet almond, avocado or Shea Butter for example. »
